Blackest Ever Black bids a fond farewell to Berlin, its home of the past three years, with a party at Ohm featuring William Bennett's italo/hi-NRG alter ego DJ Benetti and Acido boss Dynamo Dreesen, with support from Golden Pudel regulars and V-I-S label heads Nina and GoodNews.

DJ BENETTI

All the way from Rimini, we welcome one of italo's unsung pioneers, DJ Benetti. Conqueror of dancefloors all over the world, Benetti's sets routinely blow the minds of first-timers and hardcore Italo & hi-nrg cognoscenti alike.

His first gig was at a Mafia-controlled pizza restaurant in Vigevano (Northern Italy) in 1980, a restaurant famed for its special aphrodisiac "spaghetti a la slinguata". He’s also big in China, especially in cities like Shanghai and Hang Zhou —where he lived for 18 months as paid guest of the Communist town council. More than 50% of his income is spent on D&G clothes and accessories.

A rumour persists that Benetti is the alter ego of William Bennett (Whitehouse, Cut Hands), but this seems altogether unlikely.

DYNAMO DREESEN

Dynamo Dreesen is Andreas Krumm: a DJ, producer and the man behind the impeccable Acido - one of the most important, adventurous and acutely psychedelic contemporary house labels. Although to call Acido "just" a house label is to do it a huge disservice: DIY but supremely accomplished, experimental but unpretentious, its inspired catalogue takes in dub, hip-hop, jungle, meditative soundscaping and musique concrete. It provides a home for Dreesen's own productions as well as those of SVN, PG Sounds, Porn Sword Tobacco, Tase, Convextion, $tinkworx, DJ Sotofett, Madteo and more. Krumm also makes music with SVN as Dresvn, with releases on Sex Tags Mania, Wania, Honest Jon's and SVN's closely affiliated SUED label.

NINA + GOODNEWS

Nina is a resident at Hamburg's storied Golden Pudel club and her free-roaming, ocean-deep DJ sets of mesmerising, bombed-out darkwave electronics have become the stuff of legend. Since releasing her 'No Observable Effect Concentration' on BEB's Krokodilo imprint in 2013, Nina has founded the amazing Vis label with fellow Pudel family member Tobias Duffner aka GoodNews, with releases so far from SPR and Christoph de Babalon.
