Die Getränke stehen kalt, das mit Girlanden verzierte Büffet wartet und die Gäste halten Konfetti und Luftschlangen für die « Überraschung ! » bereit, während im Hintergrund eine Playlist Lust auf Feiern macht. Jeden Moment kommt der*die Freund*in zur Tür herein, deren 30. Geburtstag heute gebührend gefeiert werden soll. Doch die Minuten verstreichen, ohne dass sich die Wohnungstür öffnet. Die Gäste fangen also an, über Erinnerungen mit dem Geburtstagskind zu sprechen und tauschen gute und schlechte, fröhliche und traurige Geschichten aus…längst vergessen geglaubte Spannungen stehen auf einmal wieder mitten im Raum, genauso wie vor Jahren eingeschlafene Leidenschaften und verloren geglaubte Hoffnungen. Für all das wäre bei einem pünktlichen Geburtstagsgast wohl kaum Platz gewesen…

Le buffet est ouvert, les boissons sont servies. Une playlist de début de soirée fait patienter des invités prêts à crier « Surprise! ». Munis de confettis et de serpentins, ils attendent que leur ami arrive pour fêter dignement ses 30 ans. Les minutes passent, il ne montre toujours pas le bout de son nez. Alors, les invités continuent d’attendre, ils discutent, se rappellent des souvenirs, les meilleurs comme les moins bons... Des tensions refont surface et des passions que l’on pensaient éteintes renaissent ! Est-ce que tout cela se serait passé, s’il était arrivé à l’heure ?
