Auf ihrem Debüt-Album "Dark Eyes" spielt der Song Full Circle eine zentrale Rolle - eine warm-fließenden Electro/Indie-Rock-Nummer, die sich unwiderruflich im Gehörgang einnistet und bei der Trailer-Kampagne zum Videospiel Assasins Creed 4 zu hören war.
Die Band verbindet in ihrem warmen und rhythmischen Sound Folk mit Chorgesang und elektronischen Elementen. Ihre komplexen Arrangements – sowohl die instrumentalen als auch die vokalen – sind von klassischen und modernen Komponisten beeinflusst und wirken insbesondere live richtig stark. Auf der Bühne tauschen sie oft die Instrumente und lassen die Hirne und Herzen der Horcher mit ihren vielfältigen Rhythmen so richtig fliegen. Die Vergleiche reichen von den Fleet Foxes über Band of Horses, AltJ, Jeff Buckley bis hin zu Radiohead – woraus man schon erkennen kann, dass die Kanadier gar nicht vergleichbar, sondern sehr, sehr eigen sind.
Zu den Highlights des Jahres 2013 zählen unter anderem der Support bei der ausverkaufte Europatour von Mumford and Sons ("doch sollte man sich davon nicht in die Irre führen lassen, denn von der einlullenden Mumford-&-Sons-Gefühligkeit ist hier nichts zu hören", so nochmals plattentests.de), sowie ein unvergesslicher Auftritt beim Haldern Pop Festival 2013. Auf jeden Fall stieg die Band rasend schnell in den FolkOlymp auf und wurde ebenso zu den großen Festivals in Nordamerika und Europa eingeladen wie sie auf fast jeder OnetowatchListe des Jahres auftauchte. Im Anschluss ließen sie sich Zeit für das zweite Album, welches nun endlich Ende Oktober erscheinen wird. Um dies mit ihren Fans zu feiern, kommen Half Moon Run auch nach Berlin!
