...English version
The students of 3rd and 5th Semester of the Department Stage Design at the UdK Berlin proudly produce themselves in an evening at the Acker Stadt Palast. Diverse performances are to be presented around normalisation and restriction: How do they influence us? How do they compromise or help us?
Susanna and Viktoria interrogate the construction of family and relationships and the reputation they have as the ultimate form of joy. As they search for alternatives perspectives of values, goals and future emerge. Hanna and Jeong are preparing a big change, individually and politically. Madalena and Paula explore the possibilities that come from limitation. They raise questions on freedom, choice and compromise through a corporal performance, engaging in a new approach to the body. Louis confronts individuality to the collective, manifesting it in a durational performance. Based on Andrea Reckwitz’s Theory “Die Gesellschaft der Singularitäten”, he balances between the single and the mass, playing with uniformity or the absence of it. Val questions how authority can serve the purpose of tolerance. She invites us to the after party, a room appropriated by queer performers through the greatness of their art, their natural performativity and their many vital rules. Welcome to the “Queerdom”!
So, would you rather see some Bauhaus instead? We wouldn’t. If instead you want to see sparks of creativity, dashing innovations, bold ideas and a good way to use UdK money, come!
