Der Staffellauf der Nachhaltigkeit verbindet drei Augsburger Nachhaltigkeitsevents, die Fair Handels Messe, den Earth Peace Day und das Wasserfest.
In Form eines Rundgangs zu verschiedenen Stationen wird ganzheitliches und nachhaltiges Denken und Handeln erlebbar und ebenso anfassbar gemacht. An den Stationen finden Vorträge und Mitmachaktionen statt, wie z.B. das Pflanzen von Bäumen, das Aufstellen eines Wildbienenhotels sowie das kreative Upcycling von Plastikabfällen. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos, Kinder und Menschen mit Behinderung sind herzlich willkommen.
Gegen 12:30 beginnt die Veranstaltung in Augsburg bei den Bayerischen Eine Welt-Tagen am Kongress am Park. Nach einer kurzen Eröffnungsrede werden insgesamt zehn Stationen besucht. Je nach Teilnehmeranzahl erfolgt dieser Stationenrundgang in mehreren gemischten Kleingruppen mit je ca. 20 Personen, die nacheinander starten - es ist auch eine Kinderbetreuung vorgesehen. Bis die jeweils gebuchte Gruppe losgeht, haben die Teilnehmer freien Eintritt zur Fair Handels Messe Bayern. Nach der Ankunft am Ziel, dem Königsplatz, können die Stände und Veranstaltungen auf dem Earth Peace Day besucht werden. Gegen 17:30 wird die Staffel in einem feierlichen Schlussakt durch Vertreter der Stadt Augsburg an einen Staffelträger der nächsten Stadt übergeben.
Von Augsburg aus wird die Staffel der Nachhaltigkeit bis 2020 in über 100 Städte in Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz und Südtirol getragen. Aus einzelnen lokalen Maßnahmen, die oftmals unbeachtet und wirkungslos bleiben, wollen wir eine große und umfassende Bewegung machen - wir nennen das Sustainable Crowdacting.
