Das Projekt Okkultes ist eine Stückentwicklung, basierend auf dem autobiographischen Text Okkultes Tagebuch von August Strindberg. Das Tagebuch dokumentiert Strindbergs Ehe zu seiner dritten Frau, der 30 Jahre jüngeren Schauspielerin Harriet Bosse. Die dysfunktionale Beziehung zeichnet sich durch gegenläufige Begehren und Lebenskonzepte aus. Auf telepathischer Ebene lebte Strindberg in der Überzeugung von Bosse als „erhabenes Wesen“ gesucht und als „böseste aller geschaffenen Frauen“ heimgesucht zu werden.
In Okkultes arbeiten wir uns an den antiquierten Geschlechterbildern von Strindberg ab. Das Ensemble lauscht dem Echo seiner Ansichten, das bis ins Heute widerhallt. Harriet Bosse ist ein Phantom, das sich durch die Facetten des „Weiblichen“ manövriert. Ideale, Klischees, gefühlte Wahrheit und gelebte Realität gleiten ineinander über und grenzen sich voneinander ab.
Kann man einen Menschen wirklich lieben oder verehrt man das selbstkonstruierte Potenzial einer Person? Woher kommt der Impuls im Mystischen nach Klarheit zu suchen?
Surscène hinterfragt strukturelle Prägungen der Geschlechteridentitäten, die als Naturgesetze gehandelt werden. Wir sammeln Verallgemeinerungen in den Kategorien Mann und Frau um daraus eine Kartographie der Rollenbilder zu erstellen.
Du bist meine Frau.
Du bist mein Mann.
Das ist ein Unterschied.
