Die Musikerinnen des Boulanger Trios lieben es, die Neugier für avancierte Klänge zu wecken. Ihre eigene Konzertreihe verstehen sie als Hommage an Nadia Boulanger (1887-1979) und ihre legendären Pariser Salons, in denen sich die musikalische und literarische Elite ihrer Zeit versammelte. Im geselligen Format ihrer Boulangerie spannen sie einen Bogen vom traditionellen Kammermusikrepertoire bis zur Musik von heute. Bereichert wird der Abend durch die Begegnung mit dem anwesenden Gastkomponisten, welcher den Musikerinnen in einem lockeren Gespräch auf der Bühne Rede und Antwort steht - dieses Mal der Österreicher Thomas Larcher, der als eine der einfallsreichsten und interessantesten Stimmen unter den zeitgenössischen Komponisten gilt.
Als weiterer Gast ist der türkisch-österreichische Tenor Ilker Arcayürek dabei, der gemeinsam mit dem Boulanger Trio Larchers "A Padmore Cycle“ aufführen wird. Das Werk, das im Mittelpunkt des Abends steht, entstand zu Gedichten von Hans Aschenwald und Alois Hotsching, Die Textzeile „Hunger nach Heimat, die keine mehr ist“ ist das gedankliche Zentrum des ganzen Werkes, welches die Hörer in eine Klangwelt zwischen kontemplativen Harmonien und eruptiven Ausbrüchen führt und durch musikalische Landschaften wandern lässt.
Die Programmauswahl liegt wie immer in der Hand des Gastkomponisten, und so hat sich Thomas Larcher neben seinem Zyklus und zwei Sätzen aus seinem frühen Klaviertrio „Kraken“ das d-Moll-Klaviertrio von Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy gewünscht, welches mit seinen Stimmungskontrasten - vom Lied ohne Worte über den Elfenreigen bis zum stürmisch unbefangenen Finale - Larchers eigene große emotionale Spannbreite erwidert.

The musicians of the Boulanger Trio love to arouse your curiosity for advanced sounds. They see their own concert series as a tribute to Nadia Boulanger (1887-1979) and her legendary Parisian salons, where the musical and literary elite of her time gathered. In the convivial format of their boulangerie, they span the spectrum from traditional chamber music repertoire to the music of today. The evening will be enriched by the encounter with the guest composer present, who will answer the musicians' questions in a casual conversation on stage - this time the Austrian Thomas Larcher, considered one of the most imaginative and interesting voices among contemporary composers.
Another guest will be Turkish-Austrian tenor Ilker Arcayürek, who will perform Larcher's "A Padmore Cycle" with the Boulanger Trio. The work, which will be the focus of the evening, was composed to poems by Hans Aschenwald and Alois Hotsching. The text line "Hunger nach Heimat, die keine mehr ist" (Hunger for a homeland that is no longer a homeland) is the intellectual center of the entire work, which leads listeners into a sound world between contemplative harmonies and eruptive outbursts and lets them wander through musical landscapes.
As always, the program selection is in the hands of the guest composer, and so, in addition to his cycle and two movements from his early piano trio "Kraken," Thomas Larcher has requested Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's D minor piano trio, which reciprocates Larcher's own wide emotional range with its contrasts of mood - from the Song without Words to the Elfenreigen to the stormy, unabashed finale.
