Der New Yorker Pianist und Komponist Tarek Yamani hat Libanesische Wurzeln. Er ist einer der bekanntesten Protagonisten des "Afro-Tarab", eines musikalischen Genres, das sich zwischen Arabischer Musik und Afrikanisch-Amerikanischem Jazz bewegt. Yamani entwickelt diese musikalische Vision ständig weiter. Mit den Grundlagen dieser Musik hat er sich auch in zwei Büchern auseinandergesetzt.
