Wer die Zukunft des Bluesrock im Mississippi Delta und in den verwunschenen Sümpfen von Louisiana sucht ist eventuell an der falschen Stelle. Ganz anderenorts rumort seit 2011 ein knarzend-heulendes Ungetüm, das jetzt einfach zu groß geworden ist, um es nicht aus dem Käfig herauszulassen.
Die WANTON BISHOPS kommen aus Beirut, eine Stadt die leider nicht unbedingt bekannt für ihre blühende Musikszene ist, wobei hier doch soviel mehr passiert als man wahr nimmt. Schließlich ist es wohl die logische Konsequenz, dass sich die Kunst ihre eigenen Wege gesucht hat um mit der Reibung im eigenen und der Situation in den Nachbarländern klarzukommen.
Gerne werden sie mit den Black Keys verglichen, aber der Delta Blues steckt ihnen einfach tiefer in den Knochen. Ein akustischer Trip durch emotionale Tiefen und Höhen, knackig und doch betörend wie ein Voodoozauber. Egal wie schwierig es sein wird, physisch die Grenzen zu überwinden, die WANTON BISHOPS haben sich aufgemacht ihren Sound in die Welt zutragen. Wir freuen uns Ihnen dabei zu helfen.
