What: Design Thinking Workshop

Design Thinking is more than just a buzzword it is solving complex problems, to innovate collaboratively, and create holistic, sustainable solutions with a human-centered focus. In this one day intensive workshop you will harness the power of Design Thinking.

The goal of the workshop is to understand and experience the different steps of the Design Thinking process by applying it to different challenges. In five hours you will re-set, prepare your mind for the approach and embrace the method in order for you to adapt it to your own daily work. Since Design Thinking goes beyond conventional analytical paths, you will learn about the research methods, work in teams to understand the problem, brainstorm, prototype a solution, and test it.

SESSION OVERVIEW
We will start by understanding the principles and method behind Design Thinking process. After understanding and observing the challenge you will be putting yourself in the shoes of the end-user and learn how to ideate. You will then apply your findings during the prototyping and testing phase.

INSTRUCTORS: Birte Bösehans & Franziska Gätcke
Birte and Franziska have been working with Daniela Marzavan on facilitating Design Thinking processes and methods since summer 2015. Birte worked as an assistant to the CEO of a media company and was amazed by Design Thinking since her studies; During her exploration of Design Methods she has analysed the practices of various Italian Design Studios. She now applies Design Thinking working with Daniela on the conceptualization of methods and as a consultant at partake.

Franziska, with both a degree in humanities and management, is an interdisciplinary and adaptive generalist, fascinated by communication, change processes, and project management, having mostly worked in health management. She gathered experience in leading Design Thinking courses for BA and MA students at universities in Berlin and Kiel.
