Synopsis:

You think you know everything about hip hop? Think again. Yes, rap music started in the Bronx in New York and yes, it originated in an African-American subculture of the voiceless, the underpriviled, the poor. Grandmaster Caz tells us that and after this intro, the journey begins. No, this is not a film about white appropriation of rap music, but a daring trip to the banlieues in France, the social hot spots of Germany, the Westbank and the Senegal, where we meet the first all-female, feminist rap combo. Joshua Atesh Litle invested a lot of time and a even more heart into staying true to the discovery of the poltics that hip hop can be. The voice of the surpressed, the voice of the poor, the voice of the voiceless. In Berlin, we meet young female artist Latash, D-Flame and Tyron Rickets and the crew behind the anti-racist activist group Brother's Keepers.
After travelling to four continents and six countries, it's pretty clear that hip hop has not one language but many. It's furious, it's forceful - and it's powerful.
