2 Solo Performances by Danilo Andrés & Milena Stein
(Englisch below)
PRECARIOUS EXPOSURE / A performative Conference - Danilo Andrés

English
After a period of choreographing and living together in different ways as a couple, confronting a conflict of communication, that has its source in our different bodies and cultural background, we initiate a new format of working together, where we give space and value to our differences. Rather than aiming for agreement we both confront individually the topics of feminism, male vulnerability and empowerment, supporting unconditionally the uniqueness of the other.
ARACHNE - Milena Stein
„...Live on then, and yet hang, condemned one, but, lest you are careless
in future, this same condition is declared, in punishment, against your
descendants, to the last generation!“
Starting from the greek myth of Arachne, I define the spider as a feminist symbol, which I use to interview myself about being a female artist in a men-made system. I explore the traces of suppression in my body that, like a curse, lay over generations of women's bodies. What does it mean to fight something that is locked inside of yourself?
I invite you to join me in the darkness of rendered-invisible existences and get caught in the web of their stories.
PRECARIOUS EXPOSURE / A performative Conference - Danilo Andrés
I present a hybrid format between performance and conference where I examine my personal materials (drawings, notes, references, books and costumes) under the influence of eros and male vulnerabilities. Sharing those materials I open the possibility for the public to get into dialogue with me and transform my process. It is a ritual-conference that works as an invitation for the public to erase, question and discuss my artistic patterns, obsessions, aesthetic tendencies and attachments. Like that i want to reach the understanding of performative work as a shared practice, in which we exercise startegies for empowerment and our capability of transformation. The dynamic format enables me to change between performance, conference and installative space.

Artist Bio's
Milena Luise Stein, born 1994 in Karlsruhe, Germany, is a Berlin based freelance dancer and performer.
Her education as a contemporary dancer she received at the Contemporary Dance School Hamburg (2013-2016). After her graduation from the CDSH, she went to Israel to study Gaga, a movement language developed by the choreographer Ohad Naharin. Then she went to New York, where she started to focus in more performative work while doing an internship at Movement Research, where she got in touch with international artists of all disciplines. One year ago she decided to chose Berlin as her home to work on the topics of community and communication. Both as a solo artists and as a member and co founder of the Hamburg based 'Contrahera Collective'.
Danilo Andrés is a dancer/choreographer and visual artist based in Berlin. His work in visual, sonic and performance art has always been interrelated, and is signified by incorporating multiple forms of media (sculptural headpieces, costumes, photography and video) with several languages in performance. He embodies magical archetypes by creating a dialogue with his own essential, primitive spirit and explores themes of possession by internal demons. This fascination for symbolism, archetypal figures and sacred geometry is a way to manifest the chaotic yet fluid phenomena behind the material world, and enables our bodies to become indistinct, transparent and infinite again. Since 2014, he's collaborated with artistic institutions in Berlin including Akademie der Künste and Neuköllner Oper, along with his work as a solo performer/dancer in cooperation with other choreographers like Minako Seki and Felix Ruckert (Schwelle7).
