5 Tried and Tested Tricks for Selling More Tickets to Your Next Event

Not selling as many tickets as you'd like to? Perhaps you have to re-think your ticket sales strategy. Luckily, we know a thing or some about ticket sales. Here are some of our tried and tested tips for selling more tickets for your next event.

1. Don't put all of your tickets up all at once

Want your event tickets to sell out? Don't put a lot of them up all at once. Pushing out a limited amount of tickets available for a short period of time creates urgency and is more likely to be sold out than all of your tickets at once. Put a small amount of tickets up for pre-sale and schedule the rest of tickets to become available at a certain day after to heat up an interest for your event.

2. Create exclusives for your most dedicated followers

Create exclusive tickets for people that sign up to your mailing list or follow you on social. These are your dedicated followers, they can possibly get a first hand at grabbing a ticket to your next event at a reduced price before all the masses even get to hear about the event. This is also a great way to get more people on your mailing list or your pages - once the rest of the peeps see that the "special offer" tickets are sold out -they might wonder how they can get on "the list" for the next pre-sale. You can provide the links and hints in your event description.

3. Reward the Early Birds

Now that you have sold exclusive tickets to a select few, you can offer an Early Bird version to the rest of the people interested. An Early Bird ticket is always a bit cheaper than the actual ticket and it sometimes provides an extra value (like a free drink on entry). Make sure you let people know when the Early Bird tickets become available and what the price difference or a benefit is in buying them over your Regular Ticket.

4. Make your average tickets "special"

Know for sure you're going to have a queue outside your venue? Create a special ticket option to allow to skip the queue. Going to have interesting merch selling at the event? Add the merch to your event beforehand or create a ticket/merch bundle. VIP tickets work a charm as well. The options are only limited to your imagination.

5. Charge more at the door

As simple as it is - if you want to sell more tickets before your event even starts - charge more at the door or don't offer tickets at the door at all (if you feel bold).
