Kammermusik I Traditionelle orientalische Musik I Westliche klassische Musik
Das Konzert lässt traditionelle orientalische Musik mit klassischer Musik interagieren. Das Streichquintett spielt eine Serenade in C-Dur von P. I. Tschaikowski, die stellenweise stoppt. Hier setzt das Ramal Ensemble mit syrischen Kompositionen ein, die im gleichen Zeitraum geschrieben wurden, wie Tschaikowskis Serenade.
Das Ramal Ensemble wurde 2011 in Damaskus von syrischen Musikern gegründet. Die vier Mitglieder sind auf westliche Klassik spezialisiert, ohne jedoch ihre Leidenschaft für traditionelle orientalische Musik zurückzustellen: In ganz Europa bespielen sie Konzertbühnen und führen Workshops für arabische Musik durch, u. a. beim Weimar Kunst Fest, Rudolstadt Festival und Roskilde Festival.
