(…) in der Reihe „Heimspiel“ verlieh die Gautinger Sängerin Susanne Karl Jazz-Standards und auch Swing-Oldies mit ihrer Kupferstimme einen zarten, treffenden Klang. „You`d be so nice to come home to“, das ist mit seinen 72 Jahren schon so alt, dass es quasi keiner mehr kennt und darum übersetzte Susanne Karl auch den Titel. „es wär`so schön, mit dir ein Zuhause zu haben“. (…) dass es um Liebe ging, darüber ließ die Interpretin keinen Zweifel. (…) warm, geradezu samtig fühlte man sich von dem Song und seiner ungeniert ausgelebten Jazz-Romantik getragen. (…) zwischenzeitlich steuerte Erich Lutz am Saxophon feine Soli bei (…) besonders hörenswert waren die prägnanten Variationen auf den Saiten der Jazzgitarre (Bernd Huber). Zu den Besonderheiten des Abends zählte, dass das Susanne Karl Ensemble auch genrefremde Titel zuverlässig ins Barjazz-Feeling übertrug, so den „Tennessee waltz“ oder „Have I told you lately that I love you“. Allen voran stand Paul Simons „Still crazy“, das für das neue Album den Titel beigesteuert hat.

„im Innenraum vom Cafe Fußberg kamen die Zuhörer (…) in den Genuss eines intimen Jazzabends, der sich als intensiver musikalischer Glücksmoment ins Gedächtnis prägte. (…) noch stärker lässt die absolut gradlinige Stimmführung aufhorchen. Die coole Reduktion auf wenige, leicht rau geführte Tonlagen tunkt jede gesungene Zeile in warmes jazziges Schwarz. (…) keine Frage, diese Lady hat den Jazz im Blut. Neben inspirierten Jazzstandards gelangen (…) auch vielseitige Kunststückchen, nämlich eine Barjazz – Version eines Prince – Songs und ein fulminanter Jazzboogie über „Country roads“.
