Der Norwegische Komponist, Tubaspieler und Basstrompeter Daniel Herskedal hat sich den Ruf eines Musikers verdient, der unbehindert von Konventionen die Grenzen seiner Instrumente technisch und klanglich auslotet um mit ihnen überraschend anziehende und schöne Musik zu machen.
Schon mit seinem ersten Album 'Slow Eastbound Train' (2015) tourte er erfolgreich durch ganz Europa. Das folgende Album 'Roc' (2017), mit seinen Einflüssen aus Folk, Jazz, Klassik und Arabischer Musik hat die Kritiker ebenfall begeistert, die Band wurde als eines der einzigartigsten und innovativsten kleinen Ensembles beschrieben. Bei uns in der Halle stellt Daniel mit seinem Quartet sein drittes Album 'Voyage' (2019) vor. Es wird als Daniels definitives Statement gelobt, ein Album von schierer Schönheit und frischem originellen Sound , sehr melodisch, von rhythmischer Stärke, voller ungewöhnlicher Klangfarben.
