In diesem Jahr jährt sich der Todestag von Heinrich Schütz zum 350. Mal. Diesem Großmeister der frühen seconda prattica widmet das Ensemble Art d’Echo unter Leitung von Juliane Laake (Gambe) ein Konzertprogramm. Zu hören sind u.a. ausschließlich in der Berliner Staatsbibliothek handschriftlich erhaltene Werke des Schütz-Schülers Johann Schelle.
Von früher Jugend an musikalisch exzellent ausgebildet kam Johann Schelle bereits mit sieben Jahren als Diskantist in die damals unter Heinrich Schütz stehende kurfürstliche Hofkapelle zu Dresden, später auf dessen Empfehlung hin als Sänger in die herzogliche Kapelle zu Wolfenbüttel, wurde anschließend Thomasschüler in Leipzig und schließlich erst 29jährig Thomaskantor. Er hatte die Gabe, mit seinen Werken Kenner wie Laien zu fesseln, anzurühren.

This year marks the 350th anniversary of Heinrich Schütz's death. The Ensemble Art d'Echo under the direction of Juliane Laake (viola da gamba) dedicates a concert program to this grand master of the early seconda prattica. Among the pieces to be heard are handwritten works by Schütz's student Johann Schelle, which have been preserved exclusively in the Berlin State Library.
