"And my legs, which I had as little in my power as any other extremeties, jerked and danced in a disreputable improper lust, which I did not feel at all, it was uncontrolled, everything about me, uncontrollable." (Christa Wolf: Kassandra)

In the autobiographical solo performance Fallsucht Lara Scherpinski tells of a disease that is surrounded by the aura of mystery: epilepsy. Holy, prophetic, sinful, unruly, possessed by demons. The complete loss of control in thinking, feeling and experiencing is a human fear, materialized in a disease that threatens peace. It is the uncontrollable that we seek to overcome time and again by pushing it away from us, bringing it into social DIN fits or even disqualifying it as a way of life. In Fallsucht, Lara examines her body as an archive of family and cultural history, as a reservoir of myths and social debates about normalcy and otherness. "I pack my suitcase": Lara's memory suitcase gets fuller and heavier with each passing evening. She searches for the aesthetic representability of an inner state that oscillates between ecstasy and pain, between visibility and invisibility, and banishes her into social isolation. In the form of rituals and self-attempts that take on ever more bizarre features, she explores her otherness and the social dynamics that create this otherness. An utopia on the horizon - can imagine an inclusive society in its final consequence?
