Singular

Singular findet in Englisch statt.

Cast: Sofia Karagiorgou: Dance, Choreography

Sofia Karagiorgou was born in Athens, Greece and currently resides in Berlin, Germany. She studied Dance at the school of Rallou Manou and Conservation and Preservation of Works of Art at The Technical Educational Institute of Athens. She has attended workshops and worked with renowned artists such as RootlessRoot, DorkyPark-Constanza Macras, DinA13, Juan Kruz Diaz de Garaio Esnaola, Luanna Rossetti, Alexandra Waierstall and Apostolia Papadamaki. Since she resides in Berlin, she also creates her own projects working closely with artists from various disciplines.

Stefano Loiacono: Performance, Scenography
Stefano Loiacono was born in 1978 in Bari, Italy.
He moved to Padova in 1996 where he attended University and obtained a Master Degree in Psy-chology in 2003. He relocated to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 2007 where he started exhibiting his paintings in non-conventional venues such as disused office buildings (Pink Art Experiment in 2012, 3CH0 at Kulter in 2013) or clubs like Paradiso (Shugar, 2013). He is currently based in Berlin, Germany.
His first solo show (All is Fair, Expost Moderno, 2017) was part of a urban re-qualification project for an abandoned Open-Air cinema in his hometown.

Cravune: Music
Born and raised in Naples, Italy, currently based in Berlin. As a self-taught programmer and produc-er, Cravune believes in the impulsiveness of brief and precise compositions, unsound intricate melo-dies with a restless cut. His music discloses a dark soul. It is built on sparse and abstract beats, mel-low tones and loosen harmonies, absorbed and reshaped by gently distorted noises.

One/Shell

Singular

Set within an audio-visual installation, ‘Singular’ is a multi-disciplinary performance combining dance, poetry, painting and originally composed music.
Framed within a narrative arch proposing a transition from the individual to the collective, two per-formers use spoken word and movement to interrogate and dismantle normative stereotypes on gender and class, relations that pervade contemporary Western society.

The own home is closely connected to the habitus of a person. The personality and the behavior of a person find material expression in the form of the self-created living space. Memories and experiences establish a connection to the space and its characteristics.
In One/shell the focus lays on the relationship of the person to his or her own living environment. A landscape of white pillows, abstractly represents the private space and serves as an experimental field whose material properties influence movement and posture of the body and at the same time evoke an emotional state. The choreographer uses the personal lockdown experience as inspiration for the further development of the project.
One/shell is a continuation of the project Cut and Pasted, which was created in 2013 as part of the MA Choreography and was supported by HZT-Berlin and IKY State Scholarship Foundation of Greece.
