Im Jahr 2015 begann Rebecca Lenaerts mit dem spontanen Sammeln von Vogelfedern auf den Straßen Berlins. Das Betrachten des Bodens beim Gehen nahm eine andere Dimension an. Es war ein Suchen und Finden. Das Sammeln der Federn entwickelte sich zu einem Ritual des Waschens, Trocknens, Behandelns und Konservierens. Freunde und Bekannte schenken ihr auch Federn. Die Sammlung wurde schnell erweitert. Im November 2018 beginnt sie, die Federn einzeln auf eine Decke zu nähen. Die Arbeit eines Mönchs. Während eines neunmonatigen Schöpfungsprozesses schuf Lenaerts einen Federmantel. 'Birdwoman' wurde geboren. In der alten Mythologie ist sie die Torhüterin zwischen Mensch und Tier. Birdwoman wird geboren, lebt, spielt und tanzt, bis sie wieder in einer anderen Welt verschwindet.
"Still a Bird" ist eine wortlose Performance an der Schnittstelle zwischen Theater, Tanz und bildender Kunst, die die Spannung zwischen Erscheinen und Verschwinden, zwischen dem Physischem und dem Imaginärem untersucht. Das Publikum ist ein stiller Zeuge eines Organismus in ständiger Transformation zwischen Objekt-Tier-Mensch. Die Aufführung lädt den Zuschauer ein, genauer hinzuschauen und in eine Welt der Fantasie und des Staunens einzutreten.
Rebecca Lenaerts studierte Theater am Institut für Theater, Kino und Ton (RITCS) in Brüssel (Belgien). Die Schnittstelle zwischen Theater und anderen künstlerischen Disziplinen ist eine Konstante auf ihrer künstlerischen Reise. In den letzten Jahren hat das Sprechen und Erzählen nach und nach der stillen Sprache des Körpers Platz gemacht. Sie entwickelt nun Arbeiten, in denen sie ihre eigene physische Präsenz und Verletzlichkeit in einem performativen Raum erforscht. Für die Erstellung dieser Performance ließ sich Lenaerts vom japanischen Butoh (Dance of Darkness) inspirieren. Lenaerts lernte Butoh 2016 in Berlin kennen. Sie hat bei mehreren Butoh-Meistern in Europa und Japan trainiert. Bei der Entstehung von 'Still a Bird' wird sie von der Tänzerin und Choreografin Tijen Lawton unterstützt (vgl. Needcompany).

In 2015, Rebecca Lenaerts started with the spontaneous act of collecting bird feathers on the streets of Berlin. Looking at the ground while walking took on a different dimension. It was a search and find. Collecting the feathers grew into a ritual of washing, drying, treating and preserving. Friends and acquaintances start giving her feathers to. The collection expanded rapidly. In November 2018 she start sewing the feathers one-by-one on a blanket. A monk's work. During a creation process of nine months Lenaerts created a feather cloak. Birdwoman was born. In ancient mythology she is the gatekeeper between the human and animal world. Birdwoman is born, lives, plays and dances until she disappears again into another world.
"Still a bird" is a wordless performance on the intersection between theater, dance and visual arts exploring the tension between appearing and disappearing, between the physical and the imaginary. The audience is a silent witness of an organism in constant transformation between object-animal-human. The performance invites the spectator to look more closely and to enter into a world of fantasy and wonderment.
Rebecca Lenaerts studied Drama at the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema and Sound (RITCS) in Brussels (Belgium). The crossover between theatre and other artistic disciplines is a constant in her artistic journey. Over the last few years, the act of speaking and storytelling has gradually made place for the silent language of the body. She now develops work in which she explores her own physical presence and vulnerability in a performative space. For the creation of this performance Lenaerts took inspiration from Japanese Butoh (Dance of Darkness). Lenaerts first encountered Butoh in Berlin in 2016. She has trained with several Butoh masters in Europe and Japan. For the creation of 'Still a bird' she is assisted by dancer and choreographer Tijen Lawton (cf. Needcompany).

I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?
The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services.
