Jeden ersten Samstag im Monat laden die Stiftung St. Matthäus und der Ev. Friedhofsverband Berlin-Stadtmitte ein zu einer Veranstaltungsreihe aus Lectures.
Der Dorotheenstädtische Friedhof gehört zu den prominentesten Friedhöfen Berlins: Viele bekannte deutsche Schriftstellerinnen, Philosophen und Künstlerinnen haben auf dem Friedhof ihre letzte Ruhestätte.
Wer waren diese Menschen und wie erinnern sich Menschen, die ihnen nahe standen, an ihre Freunde, Verwandte und Weggefährten? In einer außergewöhnlichen Lesereihe kommen die Toten noch einmal zu Wort – vorgestellt von Menschen, die ihnen als ehemalige Weggefährten oder Forschende verbunden sind:
Christoph Meckel (12.6.1935-29.01.2020) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller und Grafiker. Sein Freund Norbert Miller führt ein in Meckels grafisch-zeichnerisches Schaffen, während Adela Sophia Sabban über ihre Forschung zur Poetik Christoph Meckels berichtet.
- Die Veranstaltung findet unter Einhaltung der geltenden Hygieneverordnungen im Freien vor der Friedhofskapelle statt. Teilnahme nur mit FFP2- oder KN95-Maske.
- Nach dem Vortrag besteht die Möglichkeit, die Lichtinstallation von James Turrell zu besuchen.

Der Ev. Friedhofsverband Berlin Stadtmitte (EVFBS) ist Träger von 46 evangelische Friedhöfen in Berlin. Durch umfassende Aktivitäten im Gebäude- und Denkmalschutz, im Umwelt- und Klimaschutz, in der Nachbarschafts- und Gemeinwesenarbeit sowie durch die Förderung von Kunst und Kultur leistet der EVFBS, neben seiner Kernaufgabe - der Durchführung von Beisetzungen - vielfältige Beiträge zur Entwicklung einer zeitgemäßen Friedhofs- und Bestattungskultur.
